Creating Win-Win Solutions

I believe that family is a sacred institution and should be private.  Our civil court system was designed to resolve contract disputes and injuries.  It is ill-suited to adequately resolve disputes between members of families.  Divorce and custody cases increase family drama and do this is a public forum.  Unfortunately, when the only tool is a hammer every problem begins to look like a nail.  Whether I am helping a divorcing couple through mediation, or advocating for a party in family court, my approach is finding common ground and discovering peaceful, win-win solutions for my clients.  I am able to settle 90% of my litigation cases out of court.  That is good for my clients and their children.

Areas of Practice

If you are interesting in mediating your divorce, custody, or cild support case, I am happy to assist you.  Mediation is my passion because it creates win-win solutions.  Both parties must be on board for mediation to work.  If you are interested in mediation, I can speak to one or both of you about the process, but i cannot get into any particulars of your case without the other party present.  It is a good idea to speak to the other party toe case about mediation before contacting me.

Litigation is the standard method of dealing with your divorce, custody, or support case.  I will be your advocate.  My motto is speak softly, but carry a big stick.  I will work closely with you to build your case, from the documentary evidence, to the potential witnesses.  When we prepare a case for litigation, we assume that the case will go to trial while continuously looking for ways that the parties can both walk away with something they want.  I am proud to state that approximately 90% of my litigation cases settle outside of the courtroom.

“If you spend your time hoping someone will suffer the consequences for what they did to your heart, then you’re allowing them to hurt you a second time in your mind.”
